Ämne: PKP is Seeking Volunteer Documentation Translators
Hello all, You are receiving this mail as a contributor to PKP translations. Today I am
writing to share with you that Public Knowledge Project is happy to announce that we are
recruiting volunteer translators to help translate our extensive documentation into
multiple languages. Thanks to the volunteer translators who helped us test this new
translation platform, we are now able to officially invite volunteers interested in
translating PKP’s documentation.
In addition to our open source software and publishing services, PKP also maintains an
extensive library of documentation for its users at PKP
Docs<https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/>. Our collection of documentation includes user guides
for OJS, OMP, and OPS as well as guides for branding journals; starting student journals;
improving your journal’s accessibility, discoverability, and indexing; and much more.
Those interested in volunteering are asked to read the documentation translation
guide<https://docs.pkp.sfu.ca/translating-guide/en/translate-documentation>, where
they will find information on registering an account and a guide to the functions of the
translation platform.
Lastly, if you’re interested in being a Language Moderator for documentation in a
particular language, please contact documentation at
publicknowledgeproject.org<mailto:documentation at publicknowledgeproject.org>.
Language Moderators are required to make a minimum 2-year commitment to moderating
documentation translation in their chosen language. Language moderators should have
excellent translation skills and knowledge of PKP software. This is a volunteer translator
role that is responsible for reviewing and approving translations, developing and
maintaining glossaries, generally providing casual support to any other volunteers working
in the same language, and providing feedback to PKP’s Translation Coordinator. The
Language Moderator position is currently open for all languages excluding Portuguese and
French.
Please don’t hesitate to send any questions you may have about documentation translation
to emma at publicknowledgeproject.org<mailto:emma at publicknowledgeproject.org>.
Kind regards,
Emma Uhl and the Public Knowledge Project Team.
