Dear all
As I wrote previously, there are some significant changes occurring within
the project team at Trinity for both professional and personal reasons. At
the time I was unable to elaborate but I am now pleased to inform you of
the following:
*New adventures:*
*Shayla Walsh* has been offered a fantastic new role as a teacher in New
York. On behalf of the whole ExtenDT2 team, I would like to thank Shayla
for her fantastic work over the past year. In particular she has been
instrumental in the work on the SLRs and development of the school surveys.
Going forward,* the TCD team request that she is suitably acknowledges in
all publications using the surveys for school students in years 2 & 3*. She
will be greatly missed by the TCD team but understand that for personal
reasons she has made the decision to leave. We wish her all the best in her
new role - your new students and colleagues in New York are very lucky to
have you Shayla!
*Dr Carina Girvan* will be leaving TCD on the 22nd August, having been
offered the exciting new role of COO of the charity iScoil. iScoil provides
online and blended education to young people across Ireland between the
ages of 13 and 16 who (for a wide range of reasons) are unable to attend
school. She will continue to collaborate with Jake and other ExtenDT2
project team members on publications resulting from years 1 and 2 of the
project, as well as the surveys developed for years 2 & 3. Thus *the TCD
team request that she is suitably acknowledged in all publications using
the school and PD surveys in years 1-3.*
*Dr Jake Byrne* will be remaining at TCD but is now the TCD Director of
CHARM (University Alliance) - congratulations Jake! This will be a very
intensive new role starting in September but Jake will find the time
take-over from Carina as the local lead for ExtenDT2.
*New team members:*
*Learnovate* <https://www.learnovatecentre.org/>will be joining the
ExtenDT2 team to support Jake and you may meet various people from the
Learnovate Centre at the upcoming project meeting. The team have expertise
in 21st C skills as well as Design Thinking and have been involved in
numerous EU and nationally funded research projects. This is an excellent
team whose expertise and experience will be a great asset to the project.
Note: They are the same legal entity as TCD. The main point of contact at
this stage is *Deirdre Green* (cc'ed) and she will introduce other members
of her team at the project meeting in September/October.
*Bhavya Shrivastava* is a PhD candidate in Economics who is supporting us
in the summer transitional period and completion of D7.2. We hope she will
be able to join the project meeting in TCD and *request that she is
suitably acknowledged in all publications linked to the survey analysis at
project level for year 2 and survey validation for year 3.*
*Communication going forward:*
- Due to the changes, from now until the 22nd of August, please ensure
that your teams include both myself and Jake in all communications.
- Any queries for Shayla should be sent to myself and Jake.
- Following my departure from TCD, I will be available to respond to
queries about work completed - please use carina.girvan(a)gmail.com. All
other queries should be sent to Jake.
- Project meeting queries should be sent to Deirdre and Jake.
- Please note that we are in the early stages of transition and August
is holiday time here, so there may be a delay to replies.
*Publications:*
- As mentioned above, I will continue to collaborate with project team
members to produce publications from the year 1 and 2 evaluations, as well
as the surveys developed for years 2 & 3. All communications regarding
publications should be sent to me at carina.girvan(a)gmail.com
- Shayla is also keen to collaborate on publications as she hopes to
return to academia in the future. Invitations to participate in
publications should be sent to her at shayla.walsh17(a)gmail.com
- As a PhD candidate, it is important for Bhavya to be invited to
participate in relevant publications. Any such invitations should be sent
to her at shrivasb(a)tcd.ie
- *All intentions to use any TCD work product in publications* should be
communicated to Jake at the manuscript preparation stage, so that
appropriate authorship and acknowledgements can be discerned.
*Deliverable 7.2*
I am currently compiling D7.2 with the aim of having a complete draft
before my departure. For this reason can I remind everyone that the *case
study reports are due by the 9th August* at the latest, as communicated
back in March. I would greatly appreciate any that are completed before
that date to be sent to me as soon as possible.
*Reviewer needed - *We currently only have one proposed reviewer (Sofia)
for D7.2. Can someone volunteer to be the second reviewer and update the
spreadsheet, please? We expect to have the deliverable ready for review by
the middle/end of August.
Finally, I would like to wish the whole ExtenDT2 project team the best of
luck in the final year of the project. I'm very sorry not to be able to be
part of the final year with all the exciting developments but look forward
to hearing all about your every success. Hopefully I can join you for a
drink when you are in Dublin.
All the best,
Carina
Hi all,
I hope you are doing fine!
We are missing one reviewer for deliverable 5.3. Would anyone of you or
your team be able to review del 5.3 until 2nd of August?
Please let us know as soon as possible to send you the document
Best,
Marianthi
Dear all,
Year 3 is the most demanding regarding numbers since it is the scaling
phase.
Based on Y2 experience and on the upcoming tasks and deliverables we have
created a Year 3 timeline that concerns almost all WPs (3,4,5,6,7) to be
prepared and have everything done on time. You can find a 3-slide PPT with
the timeline and the activities in the WP5 drive folder and* here
<https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1DyUZp_WLEpXxcYiRiB8IRRuZY21omwh2/ed…>*
The most important things (in reverse order) are :
--* School interventions implementation period*: Jan 25– Mid *May 25**,*
(This is because Deliverable 5.3 is due on 30 June)
-- *Training & Co-design with teachers period*: Nov 24 - Dec 24 (You can
start earlier with training on existing technologies, DT and Activity Plan)
-- *Y3 Evaluation toolkits (if there are new ones)*: ready by 31/12
-- *Technologies ready to be used (dashboard, tools, platform)*: ready by
15 Nov
*There are more tasks and a diagram in the PPT, so please have a look at it
too*
Please share you thoughts about the feasibility of this timeline, *especially
the WP leaders with interdependent tasks* (WP3, 4 and 7)
Best wishes for the summer,
Marianthi - NKUA team

Dear all
Due to changing circumstances, TCD will no longer be able to host the
project meeting at the end of September. Could another partner host this
meeting?
Kind regards,
Carina
Dear All
Please see the notification below which was sent by the EC on Monday.
For convenience all the related documentation to the notification is attached.
All partners costs have been accepted, and the EC is paying out the maximum interim payment allowable (10% of the total grant).
Based on this we have today informed our PO that we have no observations and asked him to check when we could expect the interim payment.
Our PO indicated that “soon“ as written in the letter, usually means 30 days from the dated letter, i.e., in our case around 31 July or shortly thereafter.
I will share with you in a separate email the calculated interim payments for you to check, and also ask you to start preparing/confirming the required banking information.
This so your respective payments can be made without undue delay once the interim payment is received at LNU.
Best regards
Shamim

Hi Marianthi, hi All,
Thank you for your email. This is applicable for other WP deliverables who have updated versions as well as WP5
Q Re, updated D5.1: Re, either of what you propose would be acceptable to the EC.
(e.g. for the updated DMP deliverable the text was kept from the initial DMP deliverable with additions, and for the WP8 Dissemination deliverable, a new deliverable was written at M18 rather than updating the M6 related deliverable. These deliverables have been approved.
Every WP that has updated versions of deliverables should choose what is most appropriate for them.
If you have a lot of new text, and as D5.1 (submitted in M6) was relatively long, it may be more appropriate to write a new shorter deliverable, and (i) reference to the first version in the Introduction, and (ii) where applicable in the Sections that follow.
Or, if you can put all the “new material” as appendices then it should be sufficient to write a preface to the first version and do it this way.
Re, D5.2 request:
Yes, unfortunately there are inconsistencies in the due dates of deliverables in various places in the Grant Agreement.
The EC portal (which is what the control excel sheet<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wCYFr8Fph4wFUJguQQU7oWT7QTTe8-HlbUT…> is based on) has some dates wrong as a result,
I do not see there being any problem to rectify D5.3 to from M30 to M34 for the third-year implementations with our PO (and similarly for D6.2 as Christina has pointed out). I will inform our PO of this.
@ALL: (For info)
* We have not yet received any formal feedback on the P1 deliverables from the reviewers ,but as far as I can see on the portal all deliverables have been approved.
* A general note for all deliverables in Period 2, is to try and keep them short for the reviewers (<30 pages max would seem appropriate) and include large amounts of data e.g. Activity Plans etc. as Appendices/Annexes where possible.
* We will also be reviewing deliverables in the OMT meeting on Friday and further discussions can be taken there. Please review the linked control excel sheet above before then.
Best, Shamim

Subject: WP5 deliverables on M24
Hi Shamim,
We have 1 question and 1 request regarding the upcoming deliverables of WP5
We have to submit an updated version of Del 5.1 (v1 submitted on M6). In the new document should we keep the text from v1 and extend it with new chapters concerning the updates or should we write a new text and refer to v1 in it?
There is one mistake in Del 5.3. It says that the first report is on M24 and the updated on M30. However in the grant agreement on the deliverables table the update of Del5.3 is on M34 (see screenshot). This makes more sense, since the 3rd year interventions will be in progress on M30. Can we modify this?
