Conference Description The 6th conference of the International Society for Intermedial Studies focuses on concepts of ‘inbetweenness’ and ‘moving across’. These two spatial metaphors capture the tension between stasis and fluidity that underlies all intermediality. The need to map these shifting spaces, to chart directions, and to see where, and how, these inbetween zones connect to other neighbouring spaces has become critical. Intermedial ‘inbetweenness’ is now a mainstream, rather than marginal, phenomenon, and, as academic disciplines themselves become more fluid, this is an exciting time to explore and re-explore this territory together during this conference. We invite contributions in the following categories, which address, but are not limited to, the topics outlined below. O evento superou nossas expectativas não apenas pelo grande número de participações, mas principalmente pela riqueza do encontro. Além de ter rendido discussões bastante frutíferas em torno de diferentes perspectivas, este pode ter sido o início de uma rede global de pesquisa sobre a Intermidialidade. Durante o encerramento, lançamos a ideia de nos reunirmos novamente, e a colega Ágnes Pethő demonstrou interesse em sediar um próximo encontro. Para esse segundo encontro, devemos levar em conta que: * Em setembro de 2022, haverá a conferência do ISIS em Dublin, então precisamos evitar a coincidência de datas; * O II Encontro, assim como os próximos, pode ser realizado online. Nos pareceu que esse formato é apropriado para que possamos reunir o maior número de colegas de diferentes lugares. Além disso, o formato online permite a participação efetiva de todos. The event positively overcame our expectations, not only in the number, but mainly in the engagement of the participants. Besides the fruitful discussions under different perspectives, we risk to say that it might have been the beginning of a global research network on Intermediality. During the meeting closure, we launched the idea of getting together again, and Ágnes Pethő showed interest in hosting another meeting. For such, it should be taken into account that: * In September 2022, there will be the ISIS conference in Dublin, so we need to avoid the same date; * This 2nd International Meeting, as well as the follow up ones, can be held online. It seemed to us that this online format is suitable for gathering many colleagues from different places and promotes an effective participation of all the involved. Last, but not least, we thought about creating a file on Google Docs to share our presentations. Those interested in sharing the presented research summary, please send it to us by email.
