Hi Ivan,
Thank you for yesterdays lecture on better pythonic logging - this was very helpful.
No problem ;) We should (must) add an example of that, so that others
can pick up.
The things you are asking with your PR are all reasonable, but they
should not be done by the app.
The python logger supports this, so we are good; but even if that was
not the case, it is the logging facility that should provide all this
functionality and it should come as policy configuration to the logger
- not application logic.
And I appreciate the way you try to promote functional programming without saying
„functional“ :-)
I can definitely see how Object Oriented programming has problems. It
makes assumptions that don't always hold true. I am not sure if
functional programming is the right answer, but I can definitely see
how systems can be structured in better ways - regarding simplicity,
maintainability, composition and reuse. So, while I like functional
programming, I am still cautious about overgeneralizing and going all
functional.

Other than the logging stuff, we discussed some more things regarding
existing PRs and I want to go over some and merge them. I will try to
do this before I go on vacation.
I will be gone between 5/8 and 16/8, so I am going to miss the call on
6/8. Scott offered to host that session, which is great ;)
Cheers,
