Dear Katrien and Sagun and all,
One solution regarding ChoiCo use in Cycle 2 can be the following:
- If teachers/students insist on using the original version (with no
AR/geolocation but static pictures), ask them to use the Learning
Analytics/AI for gathering student data from ChoiCo. (This is an easy
setting that has to be done by you or the teacher in the platform
before
the intervention). In that case, we can claim that we tested the
Learning
Analytics extension of ChoiCo. So in a way, we use the extended version
of
the tool
- However, we need some (not all) implementations with the
AR/geolocation
features as well.
Also @all don't forget the virtual robotics tool that we have to use in
some interventions this year and it is also available through the
extend2
platform
If you need some guidance with the use of Learning Analytics in ChoiCo
(and
other tools) please let me or Philothei know!
Best,
Marianthi

Dear Marianthi,
I agree with Sagun that the Google extension of ChoiCo is not always
an
added value, but we will use the extended versions. I wanted to read
the
extended sorbet manual today, and looked it up by the website, but
when
I
click, I see manuals for Malt. Can this be changed?
Thanks, best regards
Katrien

Hi Sagun,
Find my answers below
1. When you say that students must use extended versions of the
tools,
and their extended functionalities this year, I was wondering how
pupils
will use geolocation/traffic data in ChoiCo if they are exploring
an
issue,
such as energy consumption in their school. I understand that for
our
research purpose this year, we want them to use extended version,
but
shall
we also remain a bit open for their selection on whether to use a
static
picture or geolocation/traffic data in ChoiCo? Of course, we will
ask
them
to use the extended functionalities.
I am afraid of the risk of not having any students using the new
version
of ChoiCo in their projects. One solution could be to focus on issues
that
can be related to the geolocation or traffic data in ChoiCo e.g. air
pollution, means of transportation (for the traffic) or hidden places
in
the city or nature that arent visual on the maps and students go out
and
discover them (e.g. in a park or in their neighborhood). For example,
they
could use the google maps to depict different types of energy
production
in
their city/country ( wind generators, factory, solar panels etc). It
is
important to evaluate these functionalities and show their added value
for
learning

Marianthi
1.
2. I still don’t find where the game is being saved in the
Extendt2.com platform. I uploaded the ChoiCo game that I created
and
saved
it. Next, the message popped up on my screen stating that it was
successful; however, I could not find the game on the platform. Is
the task
around developing saving functionality still being carried out?
If you are working with a teacher account you should be able to find
the
game in your activities. The process is that you click "create an
activity", select "ChoiCo" in the tools dropdown, then edit the
activity
(e.g. upload the game), save it online. Then by going to activities,
you
will be able to find it there. So what do you see if you go to your
activities?
1. User Journey: In its current form, in the ExtenDT2 platform, it
seems to me that the teacher will create an activity and a group,
and
he/she will assign an activity to a particular group. While doing
so,
he/she will be able to link only one tool to an activity. I was
wondering
whether there will be no choice for students to use either tool to
explore
the issue as only one tool is associated per activity? Moreover,
provided
that nQuire for students is integrated, how can a teacher link
nQuire
for
students and one more other tool to the activity. In this case,
will
a
teacher develop another activity having almost a similar name?
Apologies for sending a lot of queries. But what I think is that we
need
to gain clarity on these issues as early as possible.
Best,
Sagun

Dear all,
Regarding* Y2 interventions* I would like to remind you that:
1) Students have to use *the extended version**s* of the tools and
their
extended functionalities (i.e. 3D printing in MaLT2,
geolocation/traffic
data in ChoiCo, body interaction in SorBET). This must also be visible
in
Y2 *Activity Plans*
2) The interventions need to be done *through the
extendt2.com
<http://extendt2.com/> platform*, which means teachers have to create
an
account, create student groups, set up an activity with one of the
tools,
assign it to student groups etc.
3) Capturing *user data* and representing them in the *LA dashboard*
*doesn't
happen automatically.* Teachers (or we) need to do some settings for
the
activity we want to capture the data before students start using it.
If you have any questions regarding the tools and the platform, please
let
me or Philothei know
Best,
Marianthi
