Hi Anne and all,
Thanks for today and the possibility to join your new cluster,
Very interesting to hear some glimpses of the topics you have been discussing up until
now and
are currently thinking about focusing on.
I look forward to reading and discussing together.
Something that came up in my thoughts after the meeting, and the raised
question of affect in meaning formation, the concept of "nostalgia",
as well as "the mobilization of affect" and the relation between affect and
aesthetics
was the concept "hauntology" ,first described by Jaques Derrida, but very
relevant across artistic expressions.
Maybe this is more related to my own research interests right now but , if relevant also
for the group, I could look for some text to read and discuss together in our next
session.
All best
Kerstin

Dear IMS Affect members and affiliates,
Next Wednesday it's time to come together for the first official meeting of the IMS
Affect cluster. We'll be in Dacke (Fe3016) and on Zoom,
https://lnu-se.zoom.us/j/62629349099?pwd=0AcmvybBGSKzibYUfbWBo1m6ujb1Gn.1 (passcode
847399). We'll use the same link for all meetings.
The agenda of the meeting is quite loose to allow for an open exchange. We'll start
with reaffirming the mission of the cluster, including any thoughts on refining it that
may have emerged since the launching of the cluster's website. We'll then update
each other on news regarding relevant on-going or future research (core members) and
research ideas or projects that could be relevant to the cluster (affiliates). Lastly,
we'll talk about future activities, and particularly ideas for readings that we could
discuss together.
Please feel free to share the meeting place/link with people who might be interested in
joining and whom you trust. If you know of someone who may want to join the mailing list,
you can direct them to me.
Look forward to seeing you soon!
Best wishes,
Anne & Niklas
PS Re-sending as it turned out that the mailing list subscription wasn't up to scratch
the first time around.
