STOCKHOLM | SWEDEN
CReArC Global 1st International Symposium on Artistic Citizenship in Stockholm, 10-12 June
2027, builds on the collaborative work of the Centre for Research in Artistic Citizenship
(CReArC Global) network, including the recently published Music as Agency. Diversities of
Perspectives on Artistic Citizenship (Westvall & Akuno, 2024) and the forthcoming
special issue of IJCM exploring the intersections of Artistic Citizenship, Community Music
and ‘Artizenship’.
This symposium extends these conversations into a live, international forum, bringing
together researchers and artist-scholars to deepen inquiry into the role of artistic
practices in civic participation, cultural identity and social change.
