Ämne: The Italian Government wants to silence gender and queer studies in academia - Open letter to the Italian Ministry of Research

Läs om varför det här är viktigt |
Dear COST colleagues,
I attach an open letter we have written to the Italian ministry of Research face to new, particularly violent attacks that in a few days have targeted research on trans youth in Rome, a researcher teaching a Queer
studies course in Sassari, and a colleague organizing a seminar on LGBTQ+ topic in Bari. Several attacks from members of the current government and "prolife" networks impact junior researchers, which is particularly upsetting. They basically propose to set
"limits" to this research area, saying it encourages pedophilia and disrupts family values.
You can have a look at the letter translated in English in the attached document, and it would be of great value if you could also sign and spread the public petition (in Itallian), here:
https://chng.it/wVfpGg9ZJq. The support of the international research community is particularly important in this moment.
Thank you so much!
