Dear all EAHIL colleagues,
We are thrilled to announce that EAHIL is coming to Norway in 2023!
EAHIL is an organization that promotes collaboration, knowledge exchange and professional development for staff in health and medical libraries in Europe. Every year, EAHIL hosts an event, and in 2023, June 12-16, we
are gathering in Norway.
Call for abstracts opened September 15, and the International Program Committee cordially invites you to submit your abstracts.
The annual event alternates between a conference format and a workshop format, and our 2023 event is a workshop. After two years of a global pandemic, lockdowns, and online meetings, we hope that a workshop with lots
of networking, discussions and active participation will prove just the ticket.
The theme for our workshop is: Radical positive change agents. The title comes from a quote by R. David Lankes: "To be a librarian is not to be neutral, or passive, or waiting for a question. It is to be a radical positive
change agent within our community." We hope that, in addition to giving delegates new skills and plenty of networking opportunities, the workshop will inspire delegates to dive into some good reflection on our roles and maybe create some new philosophies?
The program will focus on new roles, power structures, visibility, sustainability, diversity and open learning in our libraries and information practices. We hope to offer workshops, oral presentations, teachmeets and
continuing education courses to our delegates, in addition to tasty food, music, cultural experiences in our lovely and historic city.
